Guitar Chords For Beginners

This series of lessons on guitar chords are designed to help the beginning player develop the skills needed to play basic chord progressions. These chords are found in thousands of songs of all styles. Mastery of these basics will lead to many hours of guitar playing enjoyment.

You will be learning these basic guitar chords in small chunks of information at a time. This way, you will have a chance to work on each lesson without feeling overwhelmed. Mastering small bits of info like this builds confidence, allowing you to progress through each lesson in a steady, focused manner.

Take your time as you work through these lessons. It is much better to go slow and master each lesson before you move ahead. When learning guitar chords, it is typical for the beginner to spend a month or two of practice on these first lessons. Don't give up if you do not succeed right away. Like any new skill, it takes time, but persist and you will succeed.

Having a well defined outcome for your guitar playing and each practice session is one way that I have found to speed up the learning process.
