Lesson 5. Guitar Chords
Minor 1-5-1 Progressions

Welcome to lesson 5 on basic guitar chords. In this lesson you will be practicing minor 1-5-1 chord progressions. Don't worry about what this means. Just get these chords to the point where you can play them and use them, the understanding will come later.

Follow the guidelines set down in lesson 3 as you practice the following progressions. We will expand on these ideas in later lessons when we discuss strumming. We will also add longer progressions using more guitar chords. Remember, these chords occur in thousands of songs so mastery of these progressions is essential.

Here are the 3 progressions for this lesson. If you don't have these chords memorized go back to lesson 4. Click here for lesson 4 on guitar chords.

Remember to play these chord progressions daily. Set aside a regular time to practice. This will soon become a habit that will help you reach your guitar playing goals in a much shorter time.

Well, that about does it for this lesson. In the next lesson we will discuss strumming. Until then, keep on practicing.  Click here for lesson 6.
